I am incredibly excited to announce that my podcast has reached 1,000 overall downloads! Personally, I am impressed that it only took three and a half months to reach 1,000 downloads when I have started from nothing, and I mean that quite literally.
Right before I started creating my website, blog, and podcast, I deactivated all of my social media. (that story will be explained in its own blog post soon) I launched my brand without the kickstart of thousands of eyes seeing it. I just texted maybe 20 people about it. Then I’m not promoting it constantly either by posting on social media because it’s been deactivated.
I have been showing up, putting my work out there, and the people that are meant to find it, do.
This has been a dream of mine ever since I was a kid, writing and being a host on some kind of platform. Now, I’m out here doing the damn thing!
It all started when I was 8 years old. I had received a tape recorder as a Christmas present. I remember being at my grandma’s house running around interviewing the family soon after opening it. Immediately pretending that I was a host on a radio show. “Welcome to Live Radio Station News, a kid’s talk show, a talk show just for kids!” 💀
The original recordings still exist, and are in my possession! I play some clips on the podcast, in episode 33, if you want to go listen to baby Kelsey. And look at me now, all grown up, no longer playing pretend. I created this. This is real. I am the host of my very own podcast. Shit is wild.
I know that, Creating Light with Kelsey, is going to have a big following, and not just because I was told so during my Akashic Record reading 😉.
I believe in myself.
I am committed to consistently showing up to produce free content. This already is a part of my career. I am excited to see all the directions this will go!
Then with my blog, I have basically done zero promotion behind it. While in the process of creating the podcast, I had the idea to also create a blog. Since I was going to be talking about Art Therapy a lot, I figured having a specific place to showcase my artwork that went with the podcast episodes seemed like a great idea. Which gave me the opportunity to rediscover my love for writing! Because let me tell ya, school kind of sucked the joy out of that.
So, the only people that know I have a blog are the ones who stumble across it online, or when I mention it in an episode because I’m describing an art piece. For the blog, I had told even less people about it, and just keep on publishing posts. By focusing on solely producing content, I already have 22 people following the blog! I see you, thank you!
Now, I would like to give a shout out to the parts of the world that are listening to the podcast. There have been downloads in:
- United States of America
- United Kingdom
Seriously, I am in awe! Then within the US, the states that there have been downloads are in, (going from the most downloads to the least):
- New York
- North Carolina
- New Jersey
- Rhode Island
Aaaaaand I didn’t realize until just now that I am one state away from the podcast being downloaded throughout half of the country! This is so fucking exciting!
Thank you all so much for being here. Thank you for reading. Thank you for listening. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. If you are becoming a regular follower, reach out and let me know if you relate to anything that has been shared so far! I would love to connect, especially if you are starting to stick around. It is only the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where this journey continues to take me.
When we see the light in ourselves, we create light in others.
